I have a Yamaha MO8 so I use the Yamaha FC4 sustain pedal. I know what its like to keep having to buy new pedals, but now that I have this piano style pedal I'm doing much better. I think that its best to buy the piano style pedals simply because some people have heavy feet and a heavy foot can cause lots of damage to a poor little foot switch. Some folks just abuse foot pedals...I'd hate to be one...LOL!!
Pedals like this is a waste of time for me...LOL!! For some odd reason it doesn't last that long. Now you see why Chevonne has 3 speeding tickets....
One of the churches I play for has a M-Audio SP-2 for the Kurzweil and I can't stand that pedal.
Hey! I have that one. *looks around* WHAT?!?!?! I came with my board!
For some reason those types of pedals don't last long for me
I play on M-Audio SP2, Roland DP8, pedals with no brand name lol, the lil square ones, etc... and the only pedals I have had break were all Yamaha brand, so I avoid those now and I only buy the M-Audio SP2's- those last forever for me.
Thats the pedal I just purchased, it works fine so far.
It's a good pedal but I don't like the feel of it...very durable indeed.
Blessings to everybody! I had a question about sustain pedals. Our church has gone through two sustain pedals in a matter of 4 months and several more before that I recently found out about. Now that I'm playing more keyboard I've encountered this problem firsthand. I currently play on an M-Audio SP-2. Tell me what some of y'all know about more durable sustain pedals (piano style or otherwise) or maybe we need to change our playing style. I figure that a cause of the problem could be because we play standing up. Let me know what you think....
Have you found out what's actually wrong with the pedals? Seems to me that it could be a number of things. Sometimes it's a simple thing like a loose wire or a bad connection. Believe it or not, many musicians are not familiar with the proper storing and handling of their equipment. As for standing as opposed to sitting, I suppose it could make a difference, but I've always played standing at my keyboard, and my pedals last for years. (BTW, I have the same exact one Chevonne the "Speedster" has ...LOL ) So, I would recommend two things:1. Have someone (preferably an electrician), check out the sustain pedal before tossing it.2. Always keep a spare handy, just in case your pedal decides to give you a hard time or die on you ...God bless

I have a Roland DP-8 and a Yamaha FC4 (which I actually hate to use..I tend to not to lift my foot all the way up so half sustaining is a must for me...although it does hate the feel of it but I had it for about a year and no problems at all), and a Kurzweil pedal which I use for my Studiologic controller. Out of the 3 I love the Kurzweil the best. One of the churches I play for has a M-Audio SP-2 for the Kurzweil and I can't stand that pedal.
