Im serious. Stokley and Chris always brought something to the table where you couldnt wait to see what they pulled out, MOSTLY Stokly! Out of Stokley and Chris, Stokly is the man!!!! He is so under rated its not funny! All the signature drum licks off the Mint cds are Stokly. When I listen to Terry he isnt any of that. I find that the songs dont have the same flair and drive with him live....Chris live was wow!!!!

I'm feelin bbd on that one.  He is out there doin his thing, but he just doesn't impress me.  What makes a drummer hot is his unique style.  Terry wesley is good, he just isn't all that different to make himself stand out.  Every city has a guy who plays that style, if not more.  I'm not knockin him its just that he sounds just like a lot of people I know and that I've heard.

mmm !!! I see your point.

I feel Terry hands are tied though. Mint would not allow him to impose his signature on their sound.  Most of the time stand-in drummers are restricted as what they can do.

They are just Called in to do a Job, hold the groove, keep the ship steady with the timming, nothing too fancy with the fills and rolls

With stockley and  Chris Dave there is a lot of history as you said.

I dont agree with you on Terrys hands are tied. I can see why they would all of a sudden go that way....I think he just plays that way.

I believe I have an old clip where Stokely was playing for Sounds of Blackness back in the day.  But I have some audio of Chris and Stokely playing together.  But when I get home I'll work on up loading that for you guys(LGM Family) to check out.

Man this is weird, but I Think is a good Drummer.  I believe he might be the right drummer for Mint, but he is a good Drummer.  I could been in his shoes because of the pressure.

So let me get this straight bbd.  You didn’t like Terry cuz he didn’t affect you like Chris & Stokley? OK…what else were you expecting from him other than doin his job?  Besides, dude got the gig. I think we all should remember that when we decide to criticize (pass judgment on), What are we doing? Where are we going?  Where are we at? Point being, Terry must be doing something right, he has the gig.  Although I respect your comment,(U like who U like..) but to say he played like a punk is a very strong statement.

I wonder when Terry was blessed with that gig , I wonder if God thought he played like a punk?  You mentioned 3 different kats.  And let’s not forget, a younger Chris spent a lot of time with Stokley.  It’s comments like these that makes me wonder about the hearts, minds, & spirits of some Gospel Drummers…Drummers period. :?  :?

Personally, I feel Terry has a lot more to say…..juz u wait N c

Thats fine BBD - But for Mint to ask for his services means he is a safe pair of hands. I personally like the way he plays. He does draw too much attention to himself  but lets everyone shine when he is playing

Hey let me say this. I know Terry Personally. And I'm not on her to be all "hanging" or nothing. But the dude is a beast. Me personally I agree with BBD as far as not being overwelmed by the DVD that came with the cd. but Most of yall dont know the Gig was like one of the first with mint. It was recorded last January. A year ago. His hands were tied beleive me. When he comes out he comes out!! that dude studies everything. And unlike most of us Gospel Drummers. He knows everything he plays dude reads everything. BBD I guarantee if you sit and shed with the dude you will change your whole perspective on the dude. But let me say this. Wait until you hear the next live gig he plays with Mint. then state your opinion. I meant honestly with Stokley being as good as he is he would not fill Chris Dave or his own shoes with no "PUNK" But you will always hear the same licks more than once. Everything we hear that we never heard someone has done. That Mint Condition DVD showed me how discipline he is. Not out there trying to give it all he got. But The Full DVD will be out in Feb. You will see alot more trust. But I'm not the one to hate on another brother none. I mean there are alot of cats playing for big artist that i dont like on a personal level and their playing. But you wont catch me on here hating.
