Left hand chords in some songs can be considered accompaniment or melody. what you should do it first get a feel for your left hand and only play with it so itcan develop.

There are so many ways, here's a few:
1-5, 1, 3-7,3-flat 7.

Here is an explaination of these just listed

Using Notes from: CDEFGABC

1-5= C-G
1-3= C-E
3-7= E-B
3-flat 7= E-B-flat
