Check out Calvin Napper's drumming instructional video...at his site www.calvinnapper.com and he has a old gospel jazz cd "Sticks of Praise"....he is definitely under rated drummer..... nice pocket and licks... also check out Todd Wilson's video Dynamic Drumming 1 & 2 vol. at his site www.drumworksinc.com ....  good luck. You should check  out John Blackwell's Video..( for showmanship & tricks ) he plays for Prince....which calls for showmanship....i don't necessarily recommend doing that stuff on sunday mornin' service...I haven't purchased the videos yet, but i will soon.

Thanks for the info on Calvin Napper and Drumworks, Inc (Todd Wilson).  I have some great drum videos, but now I can get videos of gospel drummers to learn from.  I'm ordering these today.

Thanks for info on Calvin and Todd..The John Blackwell DVD is a good
one..I bought it right when it came out..Of the videos I have,this is the best..No one else taught anything about single pedal double patterns..
I'm old school trying dem new school tricks..

I heard of this new cat from west virginia coming out with a new professional gospel drumming dvd's real soon. I know him personally and he is the nastiest by far i have heard and i have heard a lot of nasty drummers. He will be showing nasty showmanship, sick crossovers and a whole lot more be watching his name is Charles Shelton he is crazy! he is only 19 but the boy is sick he will show rudiments bouncing sticks off toms, it comes back like he has string on it but he doesn't his feet is nasty he has five pedals and everything with a regular ten toms but he uses a regular set up stay tune and on the look out!!!!!!!!!

Go to hart dynamics.com they have a video of a 17 year old teenager and some other drummers who are nasty on the drums.  they have about 20 different drum videos

i will tell you serious video to check out... i'd recommend it to anyone on this planet for some serious inspiration and creativity. you should try to find DENNISE CHAMBERS AND TONY ROYSTER JR. COMMON GROUND. the video is so tight. dennise is a little older but tony is only 12 or 13 and the stuff he does for being that young makes u wanna go out and practice. any of tony royster's earlier videos will inspire you. i hope this helps.
