battlefield chords?

This song, if my memory serves me correctly, moves on a 1-4-5 progression, like a preacher would when preaching, or like a congregation song, so I just freestyle on it, making sure that I usually float around those notes in the 1-4-5.

It's a fairly simple song. You don't have to pain over it.

1-4-5

If the song is in Db, then you'll just do something like:

Db\FAbDb
Gb\EAbBbDb
G\EGGbDb
Ab\FAbDb
Ab\GbBbDb
Db\FAbDb
Ab\GbBbDb
Db\FAbDb

That's the most basic way the song moves, the body of the song. Everything else is just filler. Learn it this way first, then move on to something more complex.

If you can already play this song, then it's better to post what you have, so someone can help you with the chords that you know. It's a lot easier to learn 2-3 new chords than a whole song. ;)

Hope this helps  :D

I agree with you.  However There is something I need help with.  The Turn arounds!!  I know there are all kinds of turn arounds out there.  I could do a basic turn aournd 4-4&1/2(diminished)-1/5-6m.  I don't think this type of turn around used in this song.  If you help me with the turn around,  it will help me .

Which part in particular are you talking about?
(I don't understand "4-4&1/2(diminished)-1/5-6m")

the choir says Fighting for the lord.  After they say that there are about four chords played Before the leads comes back in. I was wondering what that progression is.

6-2-5-1 progression with each step preceeded by a chromatic step (half-step)

so it looks like:

b7-6-b3-2-b5-5-7-1

Here's it all together:

B\...
Bb\FAbDb
E\...
Eb\EGBDb
G\...
Ab\EGbBbDb
C\...
Db\FAbDb

They're doing left hand chord in there too which makes it look like:

AbDb\FAbDb
GDb\EGBDb
GbC\EGbBbDb
FB\FAbDb

The piano play it this way, because there's a bass player playing the bass notes.

To learn more on how to use this read posts on tri-tones, and left hand chording. The key to picking this up is to listen to the bass. That will tell you the general patern of the song. If you have to, write the bass down and romanize it, so you can see the progressions. This will help you pick the chords to play for the song.

Hope this helps
