Practicing.......Something to think about.
« on: April 20, 2004, 01:36:58 PM »
Imagine if the preacher at church had one scripture that he preached from every Sunday. For every need and situtation he used that scripture as a subject all because he didnt want to study the rest of the bible.
Sounds kinda like us sometimes when we dont want to practice in every key. We would rather force the choir or singer into our key or jam in one key in order to impress whoever. Some believe that it would not hinder the growth of your choir because all they have to do is transpose but you can hinder your self from progressing in the long run. The last thing you will want to say 10 years from now is that I want to be better at playing but I wasted the last 10 years in just 1 or 2 keys.
When you practice think about your future.
I coulda, shoulda, woulda but I did'nt.

Just something Ive been thinking about.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

Okay!  I feel you!  But what about those of us who are just learning to play by ear?  Am I covered because I read music and the songs are in various keys?
