I was looking for some noice cancelling over the ear headphones I could practice with. The good Sony ones were like $80.
I wanted the headphones, but didn't want to spend the $80 on them, so I went to Walmart instead. I spent like $3.88 on some RCA noise cancelling stereo earplugs. I had a set of noise cancelling over the ear ear muffs lying around.
Anyway, if you get what I'm saying... the stereo ear plugs + the ear muffs and man, practicing was awesome! I could hear the music and my playing at the same level. What a workout! Built up a nice sweat too.
Anyway, if you're looking for a cheaper way out, try it.. The ear muffs (over the ear) are like the ones construction workers wear, the plastice ones... they must go for between $10 and $12 at Walmart.
I used the $80 to buy myself a nice used 20 inch Earth Ride. I'd rather spend my money on drums or cymbals rather than headphones any day!
