The Yam S80,S90, p120 was the big fight with me trying to make a decision on which k-board to purchase. I love them all.  the S90s n 80s are the little brothers of the motif ..they have wonderful sounds u would love if u like. You can do alot with the S90, record..and I think this is the one has the disk..it has the sliders, wheels, nice pianos, organs, guitars, strings, etc,,,etc..so much u can do with this board. The big brother Motif is the big daddy..to me..if u r pro..thats the way to go.  I did alot of sweating to make a decision..i ended up getting the p120...i wish i had of gotten the S90..cause it has many sounds.  I am looking for a nice ES or something.,, hope this helps. They are heavy boards.  But you have to get out there and try and feel them out..its a personal thing in comparision.

Hey Funkyfingaz,

I recently bought an S90 and I love it.  My experience has been piano only.  I've played piano for 20 years and this is my first keyboard.

I love the fact that it has 88 weighted keys, and feel that the piano sounds are great.
I really shopped around too - I actually bought the ES Motif then returned as it was "too much board" for me - I decided I would rather work with an external sequencer, as the computer screen is much easier to work with than the small screen on the sequencer.

I'm having a lot of fun with my S90.  I think its probably one of the best sounding keyboards out there for the price.

p.s. - Sorry about your keyboard.  It's a shame that things even get stolen from the church (hopefully it wasn't by someone in the church).  I know I once had my pocketbook stolen from church - it's a sad thing.

The S-90 is what I use to lead worship.  Great sounds, nice feel, recommend it highly!

Thanx for the advice and sympathy...But one thing? Im wondering about the sequencer in the S90. How good is it? Can I do the same as if I had a motif? Is there internal sequencing?

I have the S80.  The S80 and S90 Are great Keyboard.  Weighted Key.
Great Feel.  No  RecordingSequencer. Only play back from smart media
card.  For the money and the piano sounds you can't beat it.
The only thing I don't like about it is the small screen.  You have to
to a lot a searching around to make any edits.  Typical Yamaha
sort of thing even on the Motif it's the same.

Eve :)

As I own an S90, I confirm that there is no sequencer.  You have to buy an external sequencer.
