Advice on running keys?
« on: January 26, 2005, 11:14:08 PM »
Any tips on practicing running keys as fillers would be greatly appreciated.  I play chords (simple chords) as we do mostly original pieces. I am ready to take it to the next level in obedience. Any Help would be a blessing. Thank You in advance.

Advice on running keys?

:D Praise the Lord!!!!! You have already takin yourself to the next level because since you already play the regular chords, you can break those chords up into runs. For example, if you played a regular natural chord like (Ab-Ab,C,Eb) you can run those notes individually all the way up or down the Keys. This goes for any chord. I hope that this advice blesses you in some way. May God bless you! :D  8)

Another good tip would be to practice your scales, and begin to get efficient in playing them with speed and accuracy. Here are a few scales that you can practice.

Try this web page
http://www.apassion4jazz.net/scales2.html

This is a whole page of scales you can practice. I pray that this helps.

If you need help on how to sue the scales, and when, let me know. I beleive there are a few posts on here already about it though. Just type the word "scales" in the "search website" section" and click "go".
