ok, i am not offended! i am happy to help you understand a few things!

wannabe isnt wrong!
and dyral isnt wrong!

this isnt about wrong or right! this is about reality!

you may not want to recognize this ( C/CEbGbA ) AS A CDIM6..........
COOL!....THAT'S up to you!

the so - called text books, to which i have not really read all or part! just read what i have!

now i >>>> algieres have been posting on here long enough for everyone to understand " noone says it like algieres " lol

i dont deal with the books people! i learned a long time ago, those books will get you but so far! and the rest is live and learn! take it or leave it!
so i leave the books for all of you other blessed musicians of the world!

when i talk, please dont take what i say to the books! i will probably be saying it wrong half the time! and frankly, i don't care! what i care about is helping people to play the organ.......and i have learned from reality; how to do it!

their is another world out here folks! and wether you want to except it or not, it's here, and it's called " contemparary chords of today "

IT'S BREAKING EVERY RULE IN THE BOOK! OR SHOULD I SAY BOOKS! AND RATHER THEN TO MESS AROUND WITH WETHER IT IS C# OR Db....I CHOOSE TO GO AHEAD AND LOOK AND SEE WHAT THE BROTHA OR SISTAH IS ACTUALLY PLAYING IN HER HANDS!!! AND GUESS WHAT?
IT DONT LOOK RIGHT!  OOOOOOOOOOOHH! BUT IT IS RIGHT!!!!!!

AND IT'S HAPPENING IN TODAYS MUSIC! AND I TO STAND BY WHAT I SAID EARLIER! IT'S NOT MY FAULT IF YOU'RE NOT UP ON THIS MUSIC OF TODAY CALLED GOSPEL......I AM....AND

" NOONE SAYS IT LIKE ALGIERES "
gieres.....

god is greatly to be praised!!!!!!!!!

Like I said in the earlier post, people call a Diminished 7th a Diminished 6th all the time.  Note for note it is correct, but technically it is not.

Another example.  People say that:

C# F A is a Db chord.  Realistically on the board it is, but the spelling is not correct.

All I am saying is in regards to the "actual" notes on the keyboard, it is correct, but technically the formual is a 1 b3 b5 bb7 not 1 b3 b5 6

If you really want to be technical and by the book, you have to call it a augmented Db or C# chord.  You can also call it an augmented F chord in 2nd inversion, but I don't want to confuse peoele.  LOL!!!!
Real musicians play in every key!!!
Music Theory, da numbers work!

I may be completely wrong, but isn't C#dim6(bb7) an inverted Gdim6(bb7) ?

I like augmented and diminished chords because they're symetrical like that. (You can invert it on any one of the notes and still have an augmented or diminished chord.) I'm trying to figure out the reason why they're symetrical, but I think it'll take digging into the math more than I want to.

There is REAL math behind musical theory, and each instrument has not only an astetic reason, but also a mathematical reason why it is the way it is. For example, there is a reason why there are only 12 notes in an octave. There were even attempts to change it to 24, but it was twarted by social barriers...no one liked the change. Can you imagine C## being an actual note? It would be interesting to have some of those notes on the piano though....then we'd all FINALLY be able to play that note, which everyone likes to sing, that somehow squeezes in between two notes.  8O

After some research 4hisGlory is correct CEbGbA, although it looks like a CDim6, it is actually, in Theory, a CDim7 the, 7th is flatted twice.

My mistake I've always called it a CDim6, see, I learn something new everyday , that's why I love this site.
