West Coast, most definitely. It blends the old-time gospel sound with great musical theory, resulting in a smooth and creative sound. Not to mention all the influences on the West Coast . . . . traditional gospel, evangelical music, and young contemporary gospel.

Nobody does it like us Southerner's. Especially those from Memphis. The South is in a league of its own when it comes to being smooth. 8)

here's a thought..  "What do ya care?"

but as far as roots go.. didn't Gospel music stem from the old Negro Spirituals in the SOUTH and get blended with R&B and Jazz.

I'm and East coast White Boy.. but what do I know.  I just love Gospel music period (black gospel) none of that white elevator gospel 8O

OKay it's like this

Twinkie is a Beast on the Hammond B3 Organ! She is the queen and there is not too many people that can hang with her.

The East coast Has that crazy James Hall sound that is thick in music theory and complex chord progressions. They are very tight with that. East coast has that traditional Churchy sound mixed with like an "arabic" sound(Think Byron Cage and Kurt Karr)

The South Is like a Melting pot for all of those styles and they are like the ones that will straight shout you to death. The best musicians (humble mucisians) come from the south.

The South has the smoothest Style HANDS DOWN
