Now I am going to explain something about the number system that might confused you but read this about a few times. Now you can change the order of the Major scale but it won't be a major scale which the name of this technique is modes of the major scale. Now let me break this down lets start at the key of C Major
C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1
now you remember that the number is a system now if you do this
D-E-F-G-A-B-C-D
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1
it is similar to the C Major Scale but it it not a major scale it is a Dorian Scale
but you use this as progressions listed above the other post
but instead of it being C-F-G as 1-4-5 it will be D=1, G=4, A=5
now you might ask what chords do I play? well the chords you will play is the same you play in the c Major scale like listed below
C=1,D=2,E=3,F=4,G=5,A=6,B=7,C=8 or octive 1
which would be these chord degree below
C=Major Chord, D=Minor Chord, E=Minor Chord, F=major Chord, G=Dom major chord, A=Minor Chord, B=Diminished Chord, lastly C=Major Chord
and your chords for 1-4-5
C=Major Chord
F=Major Chord
G=Dominant Major Chord
Instead it would be
D=Minor Chord
G=Dominant Major Chord
A=Minor Chord
now if you do this
E-F-G-A-B-C-D-E
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1
you are playing the notes of the C major but it is not a C major scale it is the Phrygian scale and you do the same thing
next
F-G-A-B-C-D-E-F
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1
this is the Lydian scale not a C major scale
G-A-B-C-D-E-F-G
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1
this is a Mixolydian scale not a C major scale
A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1
this is a Aeolian scale which is A minor scale but it gots C major scale notes
B-C-D-E-F-G-A-B
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1
this is a Locrian scale not a c major scale
and you do the same progression with the C major scale degree chords
