No-paid musicians
« on: September 28, 2009, 10:24:28 AM »
I found something interesting on the IRS website. You may be able to deduct a portion of your gas mileage that is used to travel to and from church. Good record keeping Im sure is neccessary to get this deduction. Maybe some else can verify this.  IF interested check out the IRS site and look at publication 17 starting at page 160/

I get paid every week and I still do this. Definitely helps. I also pay estimated taxes on my earnings.

You can also use this deduction if you volunteer with your youth department or other auxiliaries.  But good record keeping is a must when dealing with Uncle Sam.
