I still bump this cd now!! As always, Gerald does something that, years after, I still can't figure out. He's definitely a pioneer of the new age.

Yo, hendoo. Have you ever set down and tried to do that bass drum pattern that Gerald did in his solo on James Hall's first cd? I think the name of the song is "What He's Done For Me." That song was recorded in 1993. I still get stuck on that pattern every now and then. I have to really be feelin' it to do it clean.

It's funny tha you guys are talking about this, because it took me a long time like a year to get that lick right.  But I started off very slow and worked my way up, and now I can do it with out even thinking about.  So don't give up doc.  Keep trying you'll get it.

i remember when i was younger and first heard this song...

....the lick he did coming out of the break baffled me for a MINUTE...

i finally slowed it down and figured out and learned what he did...

aww man I know there's some software that allows you to slow down the sound in mp3's and video's cuz I learned about it from another drum messageboard a while back but my computer has completely crashed since then so now I gotta find it again :x
