what tone is it
« on: December 18, 2005, 09:21:33 PM »
i have a crappy Casio CTK-574 its all good and am practicing with it the only problem is that i cant quite get the sound that i usually hear with in gospel songs, the closest the keyboard can come to is E.piano.i am also planing on investing on a good 88 key keyboard, there are many brands out there so if anyone knows a good one for a growing church and a learning musician please reply, :D

Hi,

You don't have to jump all the way to the 88 keys to get that nice sound. You could even go for any 61 key like the Motif classics or the ES and have a really good sound. The Rolands are really good too. I actually saw a casio that Best Buy carries, it is an 88 key and goes for only 499. It actually sounds pretty good for being so inexpensive. If nothing else try e-bay....

God Bless you,

The E piano you here are from the Roland Mks-20. Its used it alot of gospel music you hear today and on most of the big records. The Yamaha Motif is also preatty popular nowadays but it cost alot. You could find the mks20 on ebay and it cost aroud 200-400 depending on the bidding.

If you go with the Yamaha Motif Classic 6 you can use they Vintage 74 sound and you will sound just like New Breed on " Here I am to Worship" or you can go with the straight piano sound it sounds really good as long as you have a good PA or monitor...... The Roland Monitors are excellent.... If you can stop by a music store and just check one out I would strongly recommend that....

Are you talking about the e.p. that is used on most of Judith McCallister's songs as such as: oh give thanks and like the dew in the morning? If so I have been trying to find that sound everywhere. Please tell me that that is the e.p. you are talking about. Please tell me it is on the roland mks-20.

I have the video of Judith and Jason White was using the MKS-20 but not on that song...Micheal Bureal was playing it but actually on either the XP-80 or D70 but I think it's the XP-80. Like the Dew in the morning was the MKS-20 E.piano tho

Do you know any other sound module by roland that has that same fat e.p. and that brite sounding grand piano featured on the roland mks-20? Its just hard to come across a roland mks-20 these days. You mean to tell me that Michael Bereal was actually playing a 76 key keyboard on Oh Give Thanks? I find that hard to believe because everytime I see him he his using an motif8 or a roland rd600 with a roland xp-80 on top. The only time I saw him not using a weighted keyboard was when he was playing accessorie keyboards(korg triton studio and roland xp-80) and organ on Marvin Sapp's Diary of a Psalmist.
