Do you play the chords as single notes?
I need play the INTRO of the song.
I know the song is post on this site.
But I still need help.
It would help if someone post the chords with
one LH/ hand chord.
 :D

Tom, I can't help but respond to these types of "Pleas for help".  I have that Smokie Norful CD and it is excellent.  Smokie is a gifted song writer, singer and awesome pianist.

How long have you been playing?  I bet Smokie has been playing since he was a child, and he's a young adult now.

Hmmmmm.....

Perhaps if you don't know what notes to play, should you play single notes, can someone break-it-down, etc., etc., you might possibly consider some easier songs that are not primarily piano (and piano playing by a gifted player who has probably been playing since he was a child  :D ).

I sense your frustration, and it will not get any better until you learn the instrument better.  Also, learning what someone may write out LH/RH and trying to memorize where to move your hands is really NOT playing the piano---it is going through mechanical motions.  Just like people can be trained to work in a factory--putting a nut in a bolt and just how to turn it the right way each time.  That's what memorizing where to move your hands is---it's not playing the piano.

I am not being mean, NOT AT ALL---just truthful.  If I took a person on for private paino lessons and they came to me with this song wanting play it (and they're paying me for piano lessons, mind you--$25.00/hour) I would tell them the exact same thing.  If they want to sight read and play the sheet music, GREAT!  But, writing it out LH/RH I would never do for a piano student, so they could memorize where to move their hands.

There you have free advice from a piano teacher  8)

Above all else (as the bible  says) get an understanding.  There is a wealth of information here and all over the internet to get you started.

God Bless you!

1. The song book is on sale at http://www.ntime music.com. I purchased the book and its really easy to pick up on.

2.  Go to  this site:  http://www.gospelkeyboard.com/

If you check out one of the files he has there ( I believe under the tab "lessons") he actually plays the beginning of the song in a video you can download (for free) and watch over and over again. He also tells you exactly what notes to play to make the chords you need for just the beginnging of the song.

Of course. the book is much better and is very detailed.  But maybe purchasing a song book might not be an option for you at this time.
Just trying to help

I noticed that Tom32 did not appologize for his rudness- intentionally or unintentionally- so I would like to appologize for this any any other disrespect posters have posted.  What ever advice that you give should be taken with a million thanks, considering all that you have done for musicians world wide.

Thanks emusiq!  dreadakyst and eweats for the input.  No offense taken from Tom.

I don't have the song book, but I know a friend that does and you're right, it is very well transcribed.

Be Blessed!

Well let me take you up on that offer... hit me up dre1906@hotmail.com...

Also i get kinda confused on your music post.. cause for your Byron Cage you say something to the effect Ab2 means second inversion of Ab. However, That also means Ab2(1,2,3,5 or Ab,Bb,C,Eb) (a seen in smokie's i need you know)the second or third chord of the intro...

i guess one can figure it out if they play along with the posting...  so yea whatever you can help me with reading music more fluidly then i am all for it.. i am learning.. but i can't read it as thorough as "See Spot Run"...
