help with Left hand chords

I need some help with left hand chords. Does anyone have any tips

on training fingers in the left hand. Please help me I am a struggling

musician right now at this church I am at and my music needs to be a

whole lot fuller. It sounds the same every time I play. I need help in this

area of my music please help.

If you've not been using your left hand much, then it's kind of tough at first but the more you use your left hand, the easier it will get for you. Do you practice and use tri-tones? I would suggest that you practice those tri-tones often, run up and down the board with them until it gets easier for you. If you've got the tritones down, then practice playing the triads (3 note chords) in your left hand and the single notes in your right hand. Whatever you had to put your left hand through to get it to become obedient is the same that you must do for the left hand. Practice, Practice, and more practice.  God bless you and I wish you all the best.

One thing you can try is to mirror your hands when you are playing chords to a song, of course only when practicing. Just like you would mirror your hands when learning scales. This is so that you know what each chord feels like in the left hand. I also agree with B3maniac. The tritones will be your greatest asset. You don't want to play full chords in the left hand all the time. Things can get too full and start to sound muddy and dark. You will have to alternate.
