hey guys ive been playing at my chruch for around 4 months already or so yup but ive been finding that my playing has been rather boring. yup so i need some help with improvisation. is there like any kind of stuff u can read up on or try to improve? or is it all just inspiration. someone told me that theres a technique to it or something but yeah. help pls +)

Pick some people who you think are good improvisors and start studying their playing. Mimick what they are doing. Once you can play what they are playing note-for-note, try to change it and make it your own. This will help you develop your own musical vocabulary and after awhile improvisation will become a second nature to you. Learn everything you can about scales and modes and their relationship to different chord progressions.

Learn your scales, major, minor, pentatonic and blues and play with the notes in the scales.

thanks guys. i'll try to learn pantatonic and blues scales as well as jazz. any help with some jazz here?
