I have not used midi in a while so I can't remember the exact terminology. It sounds like both applications are using two different midi synths. I rememeber having a properties function in midi software in which you had to choose say the computer basic midi synth sounds or Roland or Yamaha. I would check also like the person said your sound properties in Windows. Do you have two sound cards installed?
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

It's a macbook, so there are no different sound cards.

I've sorta figured out the problem at home, I just hope it still works when I take it to church.

It turns out Kontakt has about 3 different volume controls that all work independent of each other. I've never seen anything like it.
