How to get that "unique" sound....?
« on: January 07, 2013, 08:43:17 PM »
Hi guys back with with another thread. In this Jess Lewis video how do you get that fat and mellow tone out of your instrument for it sounds so beautiful?  I dont know what kind of guitar shes playing with and I dont know what kind of amp she has. But whatever it is - its got to be the most beautiful sound I ever heard come out of the guitar!

Yup, set the selector switch to the middle-to-neck pickups and maybe roll off the tone control a bit.

Well, for a start, she's using a thinline-type Strat-copy, and her pickup is set to Neck+Middle position, if that helps.

Thanks sketch! But do you know the actual "real" name of that guitar? So I can look this guitar up to do a little research on it.

Also my favorite lick in this video have to be at 1:03 - 1:05 I mean that has to be the icing on the cake on that one! And I am like in total disbelief  :o But she's one heck of guitar player sketchman  8)

Sketch I had tried to attempt that solo in that video and I thought I had it for a while - but man her bends with vibrato is a killer! I cant achieve that sound for nothing - like at 1:23 its unbelievable!  :o
