People who hate the fact a black man is president will support Romney despite the many contradictions in his character, political blunders and even similar policies to the universal healthcare.

I agree.

Ladies and gents, it's 2007 all over again.  :D :D :D

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D Hillllllllllarious! :D

Umm so yeah, can you think of any other evidence I need to provide to back up my claims that the Mormons are STILL relying on a racist holy book and still teaching racist doctrine to their members and still have not denounced the teaching that Black people are cursed?

Nope.

In fact (for the sake of transparency), I believed you to be correct from jump, I just think Dave needed to a) see some evidence; and b) provide some for his claims because I have no idea where he was getting his info.

Also, in the spirit of transparency, Teej is the first one to mention the possibility of FS and I going round and round like it's 2007 in FS' thread, I merely borrowed it.

For the same reason a professor asks one to to provide sources for one's content in a paper.

Beyond that, what makes you think those, who possess a desire to be scholarly, won't Google beyond the link provided?  Stop trying to stir up negativity where there's no need.

I know, on all counts. :)

That's what made me literally laugh out loud when you made the reference. Truly funny.

--------------------------------------------
As for the Mormon stuff, I really want to make sure that I provide as much info as I possibly can because this is a pretty serious matter for me. The church (white, black, and other) is about to try to elect a man who was BORN AND RAISED (31 years) in a faith that taught that Black people are inferior. Pause for a minute and think about the things that you were born and raised on... We're talking about 31 years of indoctrination. I find it really hard to believe that this man is able to just shake that belief (especially since it's STILL in his bible and it's STILL taught in his church). We're about to try to elect this man who belongs to a CULT and considers us to be cursed, solely because Obama believes that gay marriage is okay and women should choose whether or not to abort a baby.

I mean, put those on a scale and weigh it. Seriously. Economy, foreign policy, gun control, immigration, death penalty, abortion, gay rights, whatever. None of that stuff means a hill of beans if you have a president in the White House who thinks that Black people are inferior and are cursed. Then add to that the stuff he said about Obama voters in that video. How does that NOT seal the deal for a Christian???? I just don't get it. I respect everyone's right to vote as they please. When it comes to fiscal and social stuff, I have no comment on people's voting choices. But this goes FAR beyond fiscal and social. This goes to will you put your money where your heart is? How do you love your black sisters and brothers, and vote for a man who thinks we're cursed, inferior and welfare bums?
When you're in love you don't want to fall asleep bc reality is finally better than your dreams.

Romney Spoiler Scenario? Libertarian Party Nominee Gary Johnson on Ballot in 47 States.

Quote
The Libertarian Party says its nominee for president, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, will be on the ballot in 47 states. And there are court challenges pending to decide if Johnson will appear in three others: Michigan, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania.

A recent CNN poll puts Johnson at just 4 percent nationally. But he’s polling at 7 percent in both Colorado and Nevada, and could be a spoiler to Mitt Romney in those two key swing states.

That works for Obama...right? Hmmm

generally speaking yes ... if you assume there are more republicans who are libertarians than there are democrats who are libertarians.

I'm currently watching this now. Hope I can watch the full 1 hour and 52 minutes....LOL! It's very informative and already I'm seeing how Evangelicals can vote for Romney even though he's Mormon.

fwiw, whether or not Romney or his peeps believe Im cursed, inferior, stupid, ugly, or poor is of no consequence to me really. Ive never considered that as a factor the last few elections either. But I do consider their individual religions and their walk (or lack thereof). Along with the issues they make, thats all I need. This a very serious matter for me as well, albeit in a different sense. I cant rationalize putting a Mormon in office with all their failed beliefs. But I have challenged myself to become as informed as I can about their beliefs so I can make the best decision for me.

a lot of christians can vote for him if they just ignore a few things

Which is what all christians have to do when it comes to politics today. We as a nation do not hold to the teachings of Jesus Christ so we always have to make concessions on what we consider to be more important. So I'm not upset that many will vote for him I truly understand.

Around 11:00 is when they start talking about the controversial issue you all brought up a little earlier regarding blacks.

Mainly about the tension in the 60s for the Mormon church to get away from this view of blacks being inferior and cursed because of the movements of that time.

Did you click the link I put up? I think the video was originally done around 2007 or 2008 (the first time Romney was running for GOP nomination for president).
