I'll take money all day and twice on Sunday.
Despite our communication technology, no invention is as effective as the sound of the human voice.

I'm not rich by any means, but I am pretty content.

I think a lot of us (if not all of us) would feel a whole lot richer if we didn't spend so much. But I suppose that's another thread.

I'd rather be rich.  Fame is a burden and a double-edged sword.

Yeah cuz the same people that pump you up will do everything they can to get you down. TMZ and places like that make a living on trying to get famous people to say or do something stupid. :-\

Marketing plays a vital role in making rich people feel poor. The goal of marketing is to turn needs into wants, and then mold those wants into perceived needs. So now it's not enough to need transportation, I need my transportation to look like a $30,000 chrome benz.

What I mean is they have to get you to instinctively dismiss needs in favor of wants (the basic idea behind branding), and then turn those wants into perceived needs. You'll know you've reached this point when you start justifying wants as if they were needs ("I need a 50 inch TV because my eyes can't see well on that 26 inch.) The point is to completely eradicate needs and replace them with wants (turning needs into wants). If people only shot for needs, most businesses would be sunk and competition would be non-existent.

Make sense? It did when my professor explained it.  :D

I think I get it. Kinda like how (due to HGTV) we all NEED a 3000 sq ft house, even though just a couple of generations ago we survived in a 900sq ft house just fine?

Since its easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to make it into heaven, I'll take fame.

It's easier for the camel....but dat dont mean it cant be done without effort.

Indeed.  When the disciples responded with, "Who then can be saved?"  Jesus said, "With man it is impossible, but with God nothing is impossible"

I don't want to be famous because I don't want anyone in my business. I couldn't imagine going somewhere and having TMZ following me or something like that. I'm a very private person and I'd like to keep it that way. I could give a lot of money without putting my name on it. But of course that's just Vonne.

Yes, being famous definitely has its dark side (think of people like Michael Jackson and Charlie Sheen who basically imploded from the pressure). The 'famous' of Jesus' day were the religious and government authorities, and He did not have the kindest words for them...
