Any New P&W Songs
« on: April 12, 2011, 01:10:51 PM »
Hello, I am wondering what other P&W teams are singing now days. At my church we have been singing the same songs over and over and I am looking for some new songs or ideas. Here are a list of some of the songs we sing:

High and Lifted Up - Earnest Pugh
I Command My Soul
Rain On Us - Earnest Pugh
You Are Holy - Lisa (Forgot the last name)
Oh Lord We Praise You
Oh Give Thanks
I Will Bless the Lord
Hosanna - Earnest Pugh
For Your Glory
Everybody Clap Your Hands
Lord, You Are Awesome
Chasing After You
Might God - Carlton Pearson
Congregational Songs
Lord, I Lift Your Name On High
Trading My Sorrows

Any songs ideas would help. Thanks and God Bless!

Just a few suggestions from the ones that we do...
Gonna Lift You Up by Jonathan Butler
He Reigns by the Newsboys
Saved by Grace by Israel Houghton
Say So by Israel Houghton and Ricardo Sanchez
We Have Overcome by Israel Houghton
Our God by Chris Tomlin
And a new one that we haven't done yet but will soon...
Glory to the King by Anthony Evans
Music theory is not always music reality.

Thanks Phiyah. Do you have the chords for any of these songs. I listened to the first part of them all (couldn't listen to the whole songs since I am at work) but I really like More by Lawrence Flowers & Intercession and With God I Can. If you can share any chord that would be great. If not, I will see what I can do. Thanks again!

Here are a couple threads that may help you out

What's Your Praise Team Singing
Youth Praise and Worship Team  (The some of the songs included fit in to the type of songs you guys already sing)

In addition to those threads you may want to check out the following songs:

"Excellent" - Martha Munizzi (This is her new single for her album that dropped about a week ago.  It sounds like a blend of 'Glorious' and 'Faithful to Believe'.  Her albums are generally good for praise and worship songs, so you may want to go to the iTunes store and check out the previews.  idk if any of the songs are on Youtube yet.  MySpace has a lot of these songs.  Napster may allow you to listen to some songs. I suggest listening to the songs in private browsing so all you have to do is leave and go back into private browsing to listen to more songs...unless they've fixed that glitch by now.  Lol.)

Martha has some older songs that are good like (excuse me if I mention songs that were already mentioned in the other threads) "Mighty God", "Lift Him Up", "I Will Always", "Because of Who You Are", "Say the Name", "Shout", and "Rejoice"

"And We Are Glad" - Joe Pace

"He Is" - William McDowell

"Worship, Honor, and Love" - Shekinah Glory Ministry (Also done by Darwin Hobbs under the title "We Worship You Today")

The entire "Together in Worship" album by Deitrick Haddon and Voices of Unity is GREAT for P&W songs.

"You Hold My World" - Israel Houghton

"Hosanna (Be Lifted Higher)" - Israel Houghton

"Holy Spirit Rain Down" - Alvin Slaughter (also sung by Natalie Grant, and Hillsong Live)

Israel (Houghton) and New Breed are good for P&W songs like "Friend of God", "Again I Say Rejoice", "Here I Am to Worship", "Who is Like the Lord" (covered by Jon Owens. BTW, I like the solo part in Jon Owen's version better. The intro is pretty much the verses in Owens' version.  Israel & NB's version has a more complicated intro.  However, Israel & NB's vocals are better overall.)  Other Israel and NB songs are mentioned in the threads.

Donnie McClurkin has a few good songs "Jesus, The Mention of Your Name", "Create in Me a Clean Heart", "Days of Elijah", "Only You Are Holy", "Agnus Dei" (this song is also sung by Michael W. Smith, Natalie Grant, Third Day, CeCe Winans' Pure Worship Perfomers. Idk who sung it originally, but many people don't really like Donnie's version), and "Lord I Lift Your Name on High" (Also sung by a bunch of people. This version's good).

Also, every month iTunes has select gospel songs for $0.69. This month they have "He's Able" by Deitrick Haddon & VOU feat. Darwin Hobbs and "And We Are Glad" - Joe Pace in the regular Christian $0.69 mix.

If I think of anything else I'll keep you posted!

This is a good list. I don't know the caliber of your singers, so I highlighted the ones that are easier to learn vocally and mentally especially 'And, we are glad' (which we do) and the congregation LOVES it.

There's a Joe Pace and Israel collabo called 'Highly Exalted' which has minimal harmony but is a great praise song.

I don't think anyone mentioned 'More than Anything' by Lamar Campbell. Great, GREAT song!!!

You may want to check out David Mobley. Great stuff! Check out 'It's in my praise' and 'One more chance' as well as 'He won't fail you' and 'Worthy' (I think you'll LOVE that one).

Thank you kodacolor and sjonathan02. I had a chance to listen to some of the songs here at work, but plan to listen to them all when I get home. I am always looking for new music and I love to get feedback on what other churches are singing. Thanks again!
