Well, lets put it this way, if you do a job, and dedicate your life to the task and do it effectively then why not get paid for it???? Sure you are working for the Lord but the truth is, lets all be honest, we all could use a little blessing. Money is the way you are compensated in most instances and truth be told Worship leaders are just as important as the Minister preaching. In my personal thoughts I would think that if the church is growing and faithfulness on the musician is there I would give that person a raise wouldn't you? Everyone wants to be commended for there work, now I'm not saying a large sum of money but what I am saying is bless them in a way that the feel like what the do means something.
Many say your reward is in heaven, but truthfully you still have to live in this world even though were not of it. It is sickning that people say money is not important in the church and brush over the subject, knowing full well that some need that blessing just to make it. (Or was I the only one in that position at one time)??
Truth is you want to be commended, and I feel that if the church can do better, which in this case they can, they should be more of a blessing, and quit shuttling coins at people who dedicate there time and energy to the ministry. If any of my comments seem selfish I am deeply sorry, but lets quit beating around the bush and talk about it. Musicians have a job to do and for there work there should be compensated accordingly.
