I'm trying to decide which planet would be better for our future generations, Gliese 581g or Kepler 22b.
Kepler 22b has appeal but it would take about 600 years to get there if they could travel at the speed of light. 289 days makes a year on Kepler 22b.
It would only take about 20 years to get to Gliese 581g. About 30 days on Earth is equal to 1 year on Gliese 581g so we could go back to living to about 800 years easy. Gliese 581g is tidally locked though.
So every day is sunny or dark depending on what part of the planet you should inhabit.
It's fun to be planet shopping.
