CS: On youtube listening to a message by John Maxwell based on one of his books I purchased.

I'm a big fan of John Maxwell.

We had great services today. My husband preached "Too Justified to be Dignified", about how people should come in our church and feel something different and see something different. We shouldn't be too dignified to cut loose and shout like we feel like. Having visitors isn't a time to hold back, but to be who we are.

I put BBQ in the roaster and let it cook all day and had cole slaw made so when we came home, we just had to eat it up! YUMMMM!!

our sermons (we had two services) today were about telling it like it is. Basically you can say it in love but you still need to tell the truth about what the bible says about things that we are going through

such as Gay Marriage

Yeah I think you right about that. Because after watching sportscenter about a basketball player coming out talking about how he is gay and famous basketball players liking what he said and everything just shows you the kind of times we are living in.

True! I hear that a lot of preachers recycle messages when traveling. I don't mind it as long as they put something a little different in it...juuuuuuuust a little bit.

I've seen some people do that, but pretty much disregarding the fact that sign-language is for the deaf.

I have a deaf son and a deaf grandson. I highly respect the language as a language for the deaf. What we do is sign language, ASL that the deaf use.

I know what you mean! A church that I went to years ago used to have this evangelist pretty regular. The last time I heard him preach, I thought the message was familiar. One of the youth said they made notes in their Bible on scriptures that a message was based on and who preached it. That was the THIRD time the man had preached that same message at that church.
Another time, I used to listen to preaching from the internet when I slept. One morning, about 3am, my dream started to become part of the sermon and it woke me up because it was familiar. It was a man who had been to our church and preaching the same message, word for word.

My husband doesn't even use notes. He prays and preaches what God gives him.  ;)

CS: Tired after a long day at church. 3 worship services with the 3rd one about 4 hours away from home. So we traveled from 12:30 till about 4:30 then service was over and we traveled from 7pm till 10pm (EST). So I'm tired but it's been a very rewarding day! Thinking about doing a thread sometime this week testifying about how much I've grown in music ministry the last 2 years in light of my past experiences.

My father-in-law is a big believer in this way.  He's old school and don't have respect for ministers who use notes.  I personally have been blessed either way and understand both sides.
