I have a prayer request.

My sister is the nursing director for an at-home hospice care agency, and she had to go visit a patient today. The woman is 34 years old and "actively dying" of cervical cancer. She got to the patient's house and at first, the woman's husband wouldn't let my sister in. Another nurse had been there earlier and told the family that the lady was actively dying, and they rejected that. The husband told my sister that they are expecting a miracle and they didn't want anyone there who didn't believe she would be healed. They finally let her in (the woman's mother let her in) and she said that after she took the patient's vitals, she would just wait around. The husband jumped up and screamed "well you're going to be waiting a long time!" My sister said they are Romanian and she doesn't know who they were praying to, but they were praying hard. The patient hasn't eaten in 3 or 4 days and as of now, her BP is 50/10.

I don't know this poor lady's name, but please pray for her and her family. My sister has been doing this for years and she said that this is the saddest case she's ever seen. Normally she sits until the transition occurs, but this time she had to leave. Please also pray for my sister, as this job is starting to wear her out. She cares for terminal patients and pronounces them dead pretty much on a daily basis. It's a rough job.

Wow! Praying for the lady and her family. Also praying for your sister. That has to be a difficult job now experiencing what it's like to basically see a loved one lifeless.  :-\

Will do my sis.

Feeling a lil better.  Fri and yesterday were the worst.  We did a concert for this veteran memorial motorcycle rally in Jacksonville yesterday, and we went on at 4 o'clock.  It was mad HOT lol.  I made it through the show and we rocked it out, but after that last note, I coulda just laid down on the concrete lol.  Funny thing though, we were playing "Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz, and during the song one of the big picnic tent covers caught wind and almost flew away.   :D :D
Praise Him!

And kind of in conjunction with Layla's post, keep one of my mom's church members in your prayers. He's a deacon there and I've known him all my life. He's suffering with cancer and hospice has been called in. My heart hurts because this is what my mom went through as well. Praying for him, his family and that God's will be done, whichever direction He takes the situation in.

CS: Just got off of work relaxing for a little bit before going to choir rehearsal in more of an observation role.

CS: Kind of sad. Just went (me and dad) to visit a deacon who belongs to my mom's home church. He has cancer and the way he looked literally made me just want to cry. Just over a month or so ago he was at church doing pretty good (going through chemo) being the MC of a program. He was very influential in making sure everything was fine with mom being buried. And now today it's just....OMG! It reminded me of my mom's last couple of days here on earth. It was just sad to see. Keep Deacon Miles and his family in prayer, particularly his wife as she is taking this hard. My heart goes out to them because of who I am as a Christian and because I've been the shoes of this family seeing someone they love literally decline in front of you.

*sigh* Life is so fragile. Life can suddenly change in the snap of a finger. I'm learning more and more to appreciate everyday I have on earth and every blessing I have because things can change suddenly.

Am I the only one that thought the first song was a worship song to Mary?  I was like, I didn't think PHB belonged to one of "those" churches... LOL!

lol ^^

Random question, aren't the dry cleaners supposed to replace your collar stays when they finish cleaning your shirts? Or should I just get used to removing them (or what's left of them) every time I get them cleaned? Or should I just find another cleaners?

Also wondering if I should get brass ones...

LOL!!!!

CS:  I had an awesome weekend (late update I know, but I haven't been on LGM).  My friend was speaking in Stockton, CA (about 3 hrs away), and I got a couple of friends of mine to drive up there with me.  She was so excited to see us.  Turns out, they didn't have a musician and she needed me to play for her.  I felt there was a purpose for my coming, but I was more expecting to "get" blessed than to "give" anything, lol.  Anyway, I was pretty nervous because I don't play anywhere but my own church and a few other very familiar churches around her, and I always had this impression of California having the best musically... so yeah... AND they only had a piano, no organ!  My friend really didn't leave much room for excuses, she kind of told me she needed me and turned around and walked away, confident that I could and would do it, LOL!  And I did, and though I could barely hear because there was no monitor for the musician, and I couldn't get a comfortable sound on that electric piano, the Spirit of the Lord still moved, and the service was awesome.  I have the sweetest friend in the world, so she acted like I was Mike Bereal over there, LOL!  And took me and my friends to lunch afterward where we had a wonderful fellowship.

On the way home, we stopped in Sacramento and got the opportunity to minister to a childhood friend of mine who I haven't seen in about 15 years.   It was an awesome day.  God really sent us on that trip, and we were so blessed for having gone.

I interviewed a guy today and it took quite a turn. I feel so heavy laden.

He is a former pastor with an MDiv, pastored for 10 years and now considers himself agnostic/atheist. In short, he studied and found that he had more questions than his faith could cover.

The interview began with a discussion of his child custody case. He currently pays $1950 a month in child support for his son, which DNA proved is not his biological child. He learned this 4 years ago. Hired two attorneys and lost his first case, then lost the appeal. Has been paying $1950/mo for 8 years, and will continue until the child turns 18 or finishes college. He then went to court to fight for joint custody and they ruled that since he isn't the biological parent, he has no legal right to the child.

I just feel so powerless.
