You hear about the "West Coast Style" of playing keys, i suppose vs what they do on the East Coast. Can someone break down what the difference is.

And also, i wonder are East Coast players aware of an "East Coast style"? In other words, would an East Coast cat say: "Yeah, i love the East Coast Style because such & such, etc. etc..." ????? 8)

East coast play around the chords...West coast tyend to play around the melody. I tend to do both at times.

From my limited experience, west coast guys playa lot smoother and more laid back, as compared to NY guys who are very aggressive and "in your Face".

I agree!  Although, you do have some musicians that will be out the box all together.  Sound Check I believe doesn't really fall in a category.
