Hey can help me with chords to modulate from Ab to Eb and vice versa?

Thank you

According 2 T-Block, the general rule is that you use the 5th note of the key you want to go to in your LH & the 4th chord of that key in your RH. In the 4th chord you will include the 5th note of the new key to make the modulation sound fuller:

so from Ab to Eb:

the 5th note of Eb is Bb, therefore LH note should be Bb.
the 4th chord is Ab, hence the LH chord notes are Ab-Bb-C-Eb...(nb..these can be inverted, depending on song etc).

so from Ab to Eb, we are playing around this chord: Bb/ Ab-Bb-C-Eb .play around the inversions 4 the best voicings.

The same principle applies when modulating from Eb to Ab:

LH is 5th note of Ab (the new key), so its Eb.
RH is 4th chord with 5th 5th note of new key, so its Db-Eb-F-Ab.
so the full chord looks like this:  Eb/Db-Eb-F-Ab.
again here, you find the best voicing by iverting the chords.

For a smooth transition from each key to its 4th, you might find it better to play the 3rdof the new key in your LH , then the 4th of the new key then you get 2 the 5th note of the new key.

The teachers here can correct me where I've made errors..

Great explanation, all that you said is correct.

Just remember that is only one way to modulate to another key.  There are tons of ways to do it, but this is by far the simplest way that I have found for it to be done.  Also, it's easier to do in any key than some other ways.

Real musicians play in every key!!!

Sorry 4 l8 reply..but glad it worked smoothly..
i was just explaining from memory without the keys infront of me.

Thanx T-Block..i've come very far in this short career of mine..

I know this is a wrong place to place a request, but i don't know how to start a new request, so i'll use this to ask some1 to do a tutorial/ post step by step chords 2 playing the song :

The Lord Is My Light ,& My Salvation..
I don't have much time to learn it from the cd as I have exams in Jan & lots of work 2 do.

On cd, the song is in the key of D & then modulates to A near the end..i tried 2 play along, just that i'm trying to learn new keys by playing along dif songs..

thanx.
ps:
i can post mp3 of song if needed.
