I want to give ou guys a heads up.
My church lookin for a Director of Music Ministry. This is esentially a MOM positiion and you will have all the responsibilities of a MOM, but the title is different ( because that is what the Pastor is calling it).
I am on the search committee
The job is paid, and the pay depends on your experience. I'll be honest with your guys it will start off somewhere between 25 - 30 thousand a year.
Ok here is the kicker
We are a black baptist church looking to grow. we want to balance attracting youth with also attracting more seasoned vets ( translate we play both contemporary and traditional, and we do hymns).
We currrently have 3 main choirs ( adults, Youth, children) with a womens only choir and a mens only choir doing 5th sundays. We also do outside engagements and concerts.
We are open to this person coming in, doing an analysis of the current musical program, and making changes as neccessary ( i.e. if the need to eliminate/combine a choir, form a P&w team and maybe only do choirs once a month, evaluate musicians and define goals for improvement, etc etc).
This person should be advanced on piano. we are typically piano driven and we do have electronic instruments (we have an organ but it is rarely used).
Now the real kicker...... we are located in Boise, Id. We are not neccessarily looking within the state, we will fly individuals in to interview.
PM me if you are interested and I'll tell you where to fax your resume.
