Dag, I saw this snare a very long time ago. :-\

It's cool but IMHO is not meant to be played but displayed.  It's kind of like that Kung Fu snare that's out.

That's why I don't see me buying an anniversary snare drum.  I'm really diggin' the Mapex Black Panthers and a few DW snare drums right now though.

Yeah man Mapex stuff is priced right and sound good. Im starting to think companies charge more because we let them!!! Why do I need a 1200 snare (Ive owned two) when a cheap ol Stage Custom or Export snare sounds just as good!!! Im not saying just buy the cheap stuff BUT I am saying we need to use wisdom. Im blessed to have what I have but yo; some of you all know that I was rocking the Pearl Sensitones for a very long time.

..and the Sensis' where sounded proper.  Check this though, I just finished watching MD 2003 DVD again and I really dug the way Nick DiVirgilio's snare sounded.  He had a Brass Black Panther 5.5x14.  I want to know what that Walnut 6x13 sounds like and I really, really think that Mapex should add a 6x14 Maple or Walnut or both to the Black Panther line up.  That size is perfect for Praise & Worship.  Just ask Calvin Rodgers.

They do make 6x14 in Maple or Walnut, you just have to ask for them.. I find that Mapex has alot of stuff thats not on their sites.

6x14 Maple or Walnut or both to the Black Panther line up.  That size is perfect for Praise & Worship.  Just ask Calvin Rodgers.

That size is going to be my next purchase. I find it very versatile and not just for praise and worship but for more. Calvin uses it on most of the recordings he does. It's either going to be a Black Panther Maple 14" x 6" or the Tama G maple Starclassic 14" x 6". I'm leaning towards the Tama. It's very nice. GB.

j_kay owns the G Maple 6x14.  Ask him about it.  He put a Yamaha Groove Wedge on it too.

No Joke.  ;D

man whatever. ::)  You know that you would've bought the all new Bentley Coupe instead of that Chrysler 300 C Hemi.  The only reason you don't have it is because you know for a fact that it wouldn't look right in front of your church with the congregation wondering why they're still in a small temple sitting on wooden pews with no cushions.  They're already wondering why your kit has a brand new snare drum with a crazy looking logo and brand new, old looking cymbals.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Don't you just love the church's elders.  "Why is it that the Pastors son has all of these new things for that loud drumset and we're still sitting on wood?" LOL

Testimony Service at E-R's Church -  Brother Roger's Testimony.... "I was praying last night and asked God to heal my back pains and I saw a vision of me sitting down in church with a big bright spotlight shining towards the drumset and an Angel pointing outside to the parking lot.  Yall help me pray for understanding."   ;D ;D ;D ;D
