HELP new pastor coming this week stuck on hymn choices

we are getting a new pastor he starts this sunday

and I am stuck on hymn choices

i know at least one should be uptempo
I just dont know what

i was thinking LOOK and live
or God is a wonder to my soul

any suggestions

for upemtp just a little talk with jesus

we have run glory to his name
and hold to god's unchanging hand

I hope I can answer it fully

I believe hymns should be selected according to season and need of the congregation
hymns are a vehicle to minister to folks

I think that this occasion is one where the congregation has gone through a tough season

their pastor died two years ago
another minister died in the church of a massive heart attack while playing on the organ these two events happened in the same year.

so now that they have selected their pastor after a 11 months of searching

it is a joyous occasion and one that I know that many of the members are excited about



It is an opportunity to sing about God's faith
or holding on
or victory is coming
or whatever

Like I said I am a little stuck.

but yeah that is it.

because they are right on time

i actually was already on the same page as some of these

and I may even want to re do my list

Precious memories  in honor of the old pastor
Look and live
count your blessings
spirit of the living God fall fresh on me  usually I would play thank you lord right here during prayer but i do that song so much i dont think it will have the same impact
but i could move it and put it someplace else like for devotion

i like revive us again
i didnt even thing of that i like that suggestion a lot
praise him was a great suggestion too.


i may do both of these for devotion
