PEACE AND BLESSINGS!
« on: November 20, 2006, 03:28:39 PM »
Ok, it's national Cooking Week (lol) so I had to stick my head in and say HI to everyone (especially the LGM Cooking Crew).

God bless you as you slave over the hot stoves this holiday.  I do accept plates via UPS.

Thanks and God bless!

Speaking of cooking, Jerod...what tricks do you have up your sleeve this year?  UPS didn't deliver my dressing from last year...so you owe me.

If it comes this week, I'll be sick from eating year old dressing....so do right!!!!!!!!

Same to you!!!  A lot of us are doing the "not cooking thing" this year.  I'm cooking a little at my mom's but NOT AT MY HOUSE THIS YEAR!

My dad has decided to give the kitchen a makeover.  Stuff is everywhere (including dust from sanding the cabinets).  The actual cabinets over the stove are gone (he won't tell me where).

He just told me that I better cook my #@^ off for Christmas, because the "new improved kitchen" is partially my fault.  All I can say is OK.

But...I'm on my way to pick my new love up from the airport at 2pm so I will most likely be MIA from LGM until Tuesday.

In the event that I don't drop by, just know that I still love y'all, think of you often, and pray for you diligently.

Have a great Thanksgiving...and Happy National Cooking Week (a self-proclaimed holiday)!  LOL!

Good to hear from you Herman.

Most posts seem to be about FOOD!  Well I'm up cooking NOW, so I won't have to tomorrow!  I shed a couple of lbs. and inches only to put them back on in the next 2 or 3 days!

Continue to pray for me! :'(

Why do y'all cook on Tuesday before Thanksgiving?  Will someone PLEASE clear that up for me?  My grandmama started this morning too.  Will it still be good and fresh on Thursday?

Love Always,  CLUELESS (LOL)

Well CM, It's like this for me.. I season my bird & chop all veggies.  Prepare  my  cornbread & other stuff for dressing, get the pasta ready for the Smac & cheese and let them sit for a bit in the fridge.

I pick & clean my greens, cut up my sweet potatos, butter my nutmeats (no smart remarks please)  start my broth for gravy.... etc

Put everything that will fit in  the oven and on top of the stove about 5:00 a.m. on Thursday Morning and by 2 or 3 o'clock ............

IT'S ONnnnnnnnnnnnnnMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmTAS TY!!!!

OK.  I'm still "victimized" by my mama being up until 6am on Thanksgiving Morning and being MAD because we insisted that she stay up and watch the parade with us (not to mention church).

So, in my mind, it's not a holiday meal if you don't stay up cooking AT LEAST past 2am.

I got it, though.  It's not that y'all try to avoid staying up all night on Wednesday by cooking some things on Tuesday.  It's that you do the PREP stuff on Tuesday so Wednesday night goes off without a hitch.

That makes sense.

Thanks praize.  I just got Patti LaBelle's cookbook.  The candied sweet potatoes recipe will be a hit at my grandmother's house this year.  I just made her a photocopy (forgive me Patti).
