You want to keep it simple. Some great praise and/or worship songs to start you and your choir out with can be found on this site in the gospel chords section and also on one of our member's site as well, http://www.earnestandroline.com . Here's a few to choose from that are posted on those two sites, that are really simple to learn and play, and also easy enough for your congregation to minister along with you all:

* Emmanuel (Norman Huthchins)

* Awesome God (Helen Baylor)

* Be Glorified (T.D. Jakes)

* Because Of Who You Are (Martha Munizzi)

* Bless The Lord (Andrae Crouch)

* Bow Down (Full Gospel Fellowship Baptist Mass Choir)

* Center Of My Joy (Richard Smallwood)

* Great Is Yor Mercy (Donnie McClurkin)

* He Has Made Me Glad

* Give Glory To God (Richard Foy)

* I Came To Magnify The Lord (Clarence McClendon & The Fire Harvest Mega Choir)

* Just Want To Praise You (Maurette Brown-Clark)

* I Love You (Lord Today)

* I Will Bless The Lord (Joe Pace)

* I Love To Praise Him

* I Lift Up My Hands (Israel Houghton)

* I Worship Thee (Joe Pace)

(and that's not even all the songs that you could sing that are posted on those two sites...there are plenty, but that should get you started and help fuel your own ideas of what you think would be appropriate to bring forth in song).

Some albums that include nothing but songs for praise and/or worship are:

* Shekinah Glory Ministry "Praise Is What I Do"

* Israel & New Breed (his latest one, "Live From Another Level" I think is the title ?)

* Israel & New Breed "Real" (Integrity)

* Israel & New Breed "New Season" (Integrity)

* Martha Munizzi "Say The Name"

* Martha Munizzi "The Best Is Yet To Come"

* Byron Cage "Prince of Praise"

* Byron Cage & Purpose "Transparent In Your Presence"

* Byron Cage & Purpose "Dwell Among Us"

* Various Artists "Praise In His Presence" (Harborwood Records)

* Various Artists "Worship In His Presence" (Harborwood Records)

* Straight Gate Mass Choir "Expectations: I'll Raise"

* Various Artists - "Sounds of Praise" (Tyscot Records)

* Various Artists- "Power of Worship" (Tyscot Records)

* Joe Pace "Shake The Foundation"

* Joe Pace "Let There Be Praise"

* West Angeles COGIC Mass Choir "Saints In Praise Vol 1,2,3"

* Judith McCallister "Raise The Praise"

* Carmen (his album from back in the early 90's, with Gary Oliver singing such classics as "Holy, Holy Holy" (the one T.D. Jakes did on one of his Thou Art Loosed albums) "I Feel Jesus", "Give God The Praise" to name of few, I'll find the title for that album for you).

* Various Artists "The Art Of Praise"

The following is a series that was distributed by Integrity Records:

* Motor City Mass Choir "Revival In The House"

* Motor City Mass Choir "Shout In The House"

* Motor City Mass Choir "Word In The House"

* Fred Hammond & Radical For Christ- "Praise In The House"

* Bishop Andrew Merritt & The Straight Gate Mass Choir "Faith In The House"

* Keith Staton "Glory In The House"

* Keith Staton "Worship In The House"

(You can listen to clips from these albums at http://www.amazon.com , http://www.towerrecords.com, or http://www.bn.com )

Of course there are many other albums out there by many other artists that I didn't list that have great songs to lift Jesus up, but those few should get you started. Also try to see what songs could be used for praise and worship that's on any other gospel album, like on Joe Pace & The Colorado Mass Choir's album, "God's Got It", the song "We Worship You". Hopefully this helps you out a little.

Here's an old one that you can do for sure, it's by Walter Hawkins & The Love Center Choir, just bought a few of his old albums recently, and fell in love with this song, the words are simple yet so powerful...(you could opt not sing the verses and only the chorus)

I Love You Lord
(written by Edwin Hawkins and Walter Hawkins)
(recorded by Walter Hawkins & The Love Center Choir)

Verse 1:

For waking me up this morning,
for letting me see a brand new dawning,
though I made plans for this day,
death could have come during the night and took me away.

Chorus 1:
I love You, Lord, I love You,
with all my heart, with all my soul.

I love You, Lord, I love You,
with all my heart, with all my soul.

Verse 2:
It could have been me with no food to eat,
it could have been me with no place to sleep,
but it was You, Lord that showed me my sin
and then You came along and gave me so much joy
deep down within, deep down within.

Chorus 1

Verse 1

Chorus 2:

Lord, I love You, I love You, Lord,
with all of my heart, with all of my soul.

Lord, I love You, I love You, Lord,
with all of my heart, with all of my soul.

Ending:
(I love You Lord with all my heart) with all my heart.

so we lift our hands
as we lift our voice
as we offer up this praise unto your name

-Just to Be close to you by: fred hammond

Just to be close to you
just to be close to you
just to be close to you

I worship you,
almighty God
there is none like you
I worship you
o Prince of Peace
That is what I long to do
I give you praise
for you are my righteousness
I worship you
almighty God
There is none like...
There  is none like you
no one else can touch my heart like you do
I can search throughout eternity Lord ,and find
there is none...there is none..there is none like...
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
there is something about that name
master, savior, Jesus
Like a fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus,Jesus
Let all heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms they will all pass away
But theres something about that name ((choir joins in)repeat as often as desired)
Hale..lujah...to ya...to ya glory and honor...to your name(repeat ?'x)
Jesus...Jesus...Jesus...Jesus...Jesus.. .Jesus..is your name(repeat?'s)

I need more..more..more.. Jesus more from you
I need so much more Jesus more from you...
