Just a Thought
« on: April 11, 2006, 01:55:29 PM »
I was searching the web and came across this question on a church site

"If everyone in our Music Ministry was just like me, what kind of Music Ministry would it be?"

I will share this with the choir at rehearsal Saturday. ;)
Rejoice in the Lord always, Again I say rejoice !!

I dont think the cabbage patch is acceptable when you are directing right??? lol... lets see, lawd, i need th M.O.M to type an answer too...lol... The church would have to be feeding every week, cause I likes to eat. lol... The list goes on. I am sure it would be pure comedy, and like SisT said, very tastefully dressed. Matching drum stix... lol...

Well since I responded with someone else's comment instead of answering the original question, here we go:

If everyone in the ministry was like me, they would come in late only because they don't want their time wasted with tedious conversation (what the choir is thinking about doing, excessive talking, etc.).  Afterwards, they would want to get through rehearsal effectively and efficiently and then call it a night when it's over....not laugh and joke around for another half hour....

If everyone were like me, we would get into rehearsal on time (for the most part)

We would listen to various gospel recording artists so that we were familiar with the type of music that we would be singing

We would sing our part while the choir director was teaching the other parts

We'd be on pitch (most of the time  :D)

Well, for one we would all be serious about practice.  Practice is how we get better, so if you ain't serious about pracitce, then you don't want to get any better than what you are/  We would practice until we got in sync with each other, then consistently practice to keep the togetherness we have formed.  So, that once a week for a couple hours ain't gonna cut it, we need at least twice a week filled with some serious practice.  Also, practicing alone is a definite must.  Everybody needs to be able to play their part and do it right, or the whole unit will break down.

Actually, I would love to have people like me in my Music Ministry cuz we would be focused on what we doing and do our best to the glory of God.  In short, we would be da bomb!!!  Just my opinion.

Sadly, yes; just a little bit. BUT, the choir director would take that into consideration and work with us..... ;) :D Or, eliminate all that extra (thinking-we're-Tye Tribett & G.A.) movement!!!  ;D :D ;D :D

what, do you have a file or something. How'd you remember that?

They would have their recording devices at the ready for learning THEIR OWN parts

They would take their recording devices and LISTEN TO AND LEARN THEIR OWN parts, to practice at home, car WHATEVER

They would let go of their ear and OPEN IT so they hear that they sound just like everybody else (I never understood that)

So on Sunday Morning ere'body ain't singing in unison ..... That is such a drag  Why even rehearse ?/?  >:(

They'd work harder on blending to obtain a oneness in sound -- instead of trying to sneak in a run or two; and make tend like you under the Power

They be under the power alright -- I cast that showboat spirit out in the Name of Jesus
