I have used  Nornman Huthins battle field for a lot of my devotional playing

I used The 2-5 walk up in He's able on a lot of my sunday morning plahing

A lot of Hez songs lend themselves to sunday morning especially when you want to do a march or get into a drive on a song I utilize the rhythyms

for worship I use some of the moves from Perfect praise or how Excellent

There is a song called senzenina from South africa and I use this a lot lately
Mariah cary My all (but dont tell anybody)

There are a coupllle of Marvin Sapp songs I cant think of the names Where I have pulled sounds out of it.

  • I got my MBA!!!

I've played Amerie's "1 Thing" as an offering song and the church was feeling it.  I didn't play it fast like her song, but I slowed it down and gave it a nice soul groove type feel.  It was dope.

I did "Ooh Child" for offering and everybody was rocking wit it and singing the words and stuff.  It was off da chain!!!

I revamped "Total Praise" when the choir sings it and added in some of my tricks.  It's a lot of songs I play different like "We're Blessed", "God's Got A Blessing", "Stir Up The Gift", too many to name.

You want to talk about Mariah Carey?  I done played parts of "We Belong Together" as talk music and Alter Call music.  I done played Bow Wow and Ciara "Like You", Usher's "Lovers and Friends", Trina and Kelly's "Here We Go Again", but I do it in such a way that u can't recongnize it unless I tell you.  Even though they "secular" songs, the music is just so powerful to me.

What I did was hold out (sustain) the chords to give it that smooth feeling.  Every now and then I did some of the melody, but I didn't want people to really notice I was playing an R&B song, just groove with the music.  Here are the chords I used:

4/4 time count in [ ]
tempo: 75bpm

[1, 2, 3, 4] Cb / Cb-Eb-Gb-Bb
[1, 2, 3, 4] Eb / C-D-F-G-Bb
[1, 2, 3, 4] Db / Db-Eb-Gb-Bb
[1, 2, 3] Bb / Cb-Eb-Gb-Bb
[an, 4] Ab / Bb-C-Eb-Ab
(repeat)

You hit the bass note once, but hold the chord down.

I play Earth, Wind and Fire "It's the Boogie Down" in jams with 2, 3, 6 changes.  I play "Ribbon in the Sky" over "When The Praises of God are Going Up".  Also I like to play "Family Feud" in fast songs w/ drives.

I do a lot of James Brown stuff and a little bit of Al Green. I remember playing some slow R&B song one time...I can't remember exactly what it was but I remember getting a few looks from some of the choir members and they fell out laughing because they knew exactly what it was. I guess I didn't cover that up too well  :D I've also done the theme song from the "Jeffersons" :D I haven't tried that "Family Feud" thingy yet, but I would love to try the "Price Is Right" :D :D :D

One thing, off the top of my head, that I have ripped is the progression from Hezekiah Walker's "I'll Make It (Alright now)." I will use that progression in the vamp of "I Just Want To Praise you" (I think that's Mauretta Brown-Clark).

YOU HAVE GOT TO GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!  AT OFFERING IT IS A LITTLE JAMES BROWN, OR EVEN B.B.KING, BRINGING THEM TO THE ALTAR AFTER OFFERING A LITTLE TUPAC/DEBARGE FOR THE OLDER CREW  "SET UP THE SHOUT"!

No, you don't!!!  You are there to play to the glory of God, not people.  If they can't get with what you play, then that's on them.

LOL Y'all are a trip!! How 'bout I played a lil' bit of "Say Yes" by Floetry during church one time and my pastor came to me after service and asked me to show him how to play it. He knew what it was!! (I have a very young pastor) ;D

I was flowin' though. I like the chords in that song.
