Drum Workshop (DW).  NO JOKE.  Wait till you see the adds on the next Modern Drummer and the DW website.  "BREAKING NEWS, THIS JUST IN, Peter Erskine is no longer with YAMAHA.  Sources tell us he's with DW."  Stay tuned for more on this developing story. ;D  That's what happens at NAMM folks....

Yeah, SabianKnight knows the details on it.  He told me but I forgot somethings.  I remember that he requested something from Yamaha and it didn't go through and he told DW about it and they had whatever it was for him the next day at NAMM or something like that.  I can't remember but I remember when Sabe told me that, my jaw dropped.  He was with Yamaha for like 20 years or something.  Man, that's crazy.  To me, that's like D. Chambers leaving Pearl and going to DW or Gretsch.  Oh well, that's the way the business is.  They love you and then they don't.

Basically things had changed with Yamaha personell- AR foks.... he talked with DW about some things he'd like to see in gear (a drum I presume) and they went and designed it and sent it to him in a couple weeks. He then went the factory with his wife in tow and that was it. The info got leaked because it wasn't suppose to go down until later this year. He is a member oof houseofdrumming.com forum and he came on because folk we in an up roar and personally told the story, confirmed that it was a done deal.
