I'd like to see a great player do the following:

-Take various song types (praise, worship, etc.) and run through various techniques, including various bass lines, fills and riffs. When playing a riff, identify the key and scale used (e.g., "here's a funky riff in G using the blues scale").

-Identify each chord by name (e.g., F7alt, D6, etc.). Alternatively or additionally, identify the progression (e.g., 2-5-1) and the key.

-Maybe separate these 2 lessons into 2 or more products and really go in depth into each.

YOUR REQUEST IS EASY!

problem is, people want stuff way over there heads! and that's why they have a closet frull of tapes, and still playing the same! i would love for a person who really desires to learn, fianlly not ask for stuff over his or her head! and take what they need, and learn it, and play it! and show the person who they bought the tape from, that they learned from them, and are really ready for the next tape!!!!

that's my 2cents.................lol
gieres.....

god is greatly to be praised!!!!!!!!!

I would want to see:

Talk Music (It's very important its almost like telling a story in music while someone is talking. It is important because its almost like different seasons "Different Moods call for Different music". For ex. if the preacher or who ever, is up talking and the words he is saying are soothing the spirit then don't be doing runs and trying to spark up a shout, just play something to follow him / her.

Worship Music ( Very Vital, because you should be able to follow every mood of the congregation) For ex. If people are worshiping God and the mood is soft, please dont be trying to play shouting music (LOL)

Chords  Structure ( This is a biggy because now-a-days a lot of musicians wants to play all these off chords and the chords dont be matching any of the notes the choir or soloist are singing, then you get this clashy sound)

Shouting Music ( Now you can turn up the heat, but after everyone is finished shouting and is sitting down fanning, please stop playing (LoL). I've seen it done (the congregation is seated after a nice praise break but the band is still playing, now everyone is watching the band instead of the person ministering)

These are very important. Although I posted this in a humerous manner, these very things still go on in churchs. So its something that someone should do a DVD on.

I don't have it, but I heard that P.J. Morgan's DVD is very good.  I know someone who's playing has increased greatly because of that DVD.

Did anyone check out the Daily Lessons on www.showmethat.com that P.J. Morgan did?

For an ORGAN DVD.....I'd along with the different styles of playing thats already been mentioned.....I'd like to see a DVD devoted to teaching all the features of an organ....like DRAW BAR SETTINGS....when and when not to use the leslie switch, foot pedaling,etc....and a camera feature that allows you see their footwork as well as their hand work.

Make up a top ten list of what you'd like to see on a Keyboard/Piano DVD and I'll put together one.

Sounds like a great idea, I'll have to really think about this one because the more and more I learn the shorter the list gets..... :D   ;D   :D.......
