Polychords
« on: August 10, 2012, 02:18:34 PM »
So I've come to the realization that in order to improve my skills, I need to increase my chord vocabulary. I ran through my chord book looking for different polychords because they're easier to work with IMO. Ok enough talking...

CM 9#11         CEG - BDF#      CM + Bm

CM 13#11        CEGB - DF#A     CM 7 + DM

C7#9 b13        CEG - BbEbAb      CM + Bb quartal chord or Ab Sus 2

C9#11      CEG - BbDGb      CM + Bb Aug

C9#11 b13       CEGBb - DF#Ab      C7 + D Aug

C13     CEGBb - DA      C7 + DM leave out the third

C13#11      CEGBb - DF#A       C7 + DM

Cm11        CEbG - BbDF       Cm + BbM

Cm13      CEbGBb - DFA     Cm7 + Dm

Cm11 b5      CEbGb - BbDF      Cdim + BbM

Cm11 M7      CEbGB - BDF      CmM7 + Bdim

Now, I haven't played all of the chords, so I'm not sure how they sound. I know I can't wait to practice tonight though. Hopefully these will be beneficial to someone. Next, I'll try to post where these can be used or if y'all have any placement ideas please feel free to share.
Play skilfully with a loud noise Psalm 33:3
