HELP ME OUT ON WHAT TO GET YAM MO8 OR YAM MM8
« on: March 05, 2011, 11:17:59 PM »
i need to know what you all think i should get. I was in Dave gutiar center and said to the owner i need something easy to us but, weighted keys.  He took me over to the yamaha mm8, it was easy to work and had the weighted keys and he said it would be easier to work i can go directly to my sounds, at my drums etc and not have to go into the manual to learn how to do alot of things. Well, he said sequecing would be harder for me.

Now , the yamaha mo8 just looks harder to work. i don't create songs., i just play at home now but i don't like all that lightweight keys out there and stuff. This is a heavy weighted keybroard also and weights more then then the mm8. The guy said this one would be harder for me to work, the sequecing would be easy on this board. I didnt check all the sounds out.

Can u all experience people give me advice.  Thanks

I have the MO8 and it really good. It's not hard at all to work either. Believe me, I'm not the type of person who wants to fool around with a difficult keyboard so it's pretty easy for me. I haven't played the MM8 but I'm sure that you can't go wrong with either one you pick my friend.

I can't speak to the MM8, but the Mo8 hs been gold for the last 4 years. At the time I didn't have enough for a motif, but like you, wanted the weighted keys and sounds of a yamaha. It did take me a quick minute to find my way around it. I have since, had the opportunity to upgrade but haven't saw the need since the mo8 has done everything I've needed.

Like Chevonee, you prbably can't go wrong with either one.

I have had the MM8 for about  1 1/2 years and it works great for me.  I have only played the MO8 at the gutiar center and it seems to be a good board. I don't think you can go wrong with either board.

I'd go with the MO 8;it's more of a "pro board" feature + sound wise. The price point is just a few $$$$ based on expandability, quality, resale.

There's a learning curve on everything!!!!! The MM seris doesn't have "room to grow";at some point it will limit your ABILITY to grow.I've had an XS 6 for couple years now-plenty to learn.

If you decide to sell the MM at some point,I think you will really see what I mean

http://www.motifator.com/ is great!!

Yes, an awesome dvd. Like they said tho, watch it in small bits at a time. Everything was explained very well, but it was just so much information that i got overwhelmed at first. But you'll be happy with your new board! When i first got my yamaha, i felt like a little kid with a new toy....was grinnin' from ear to ear!
