did JESUS come to die?

Heard a commentator mention this oft-quoted verse;then  move on.As I meditate on this,there is no doubt that JESUS is THE LAMB slain before the foundation of the world.But HE came to AND did so MUCH more!LORD brought to mind about 50 verses of POWER of JESUS 'MINISTRY of salvation,healing,deliverance,restoration.

Being raised a catholic;to me it's like the difference btwn a cross and a crucifix.The cross is empty!!!!!!because JESUS is alive,resurrected,seated in GLORY to come Soon!
The crucifix has the image of CHRIST still hanging on it;sort of a pinpoint of history.The cross and death seemingly were defeat for CHRIST to those who were /are perishing.We;in CHRIST know it could NOT!!!!!that the instrument of crucification was only a tool -HE used to TRIUMPH over death!!!!

What thoughts LORD bring to you? blessed CHRISTmas guys
