Right now I'm just looking for some feedback to see if there's anyone in the 757 (Newport News to be exact) interested in a keyboardist position.
You'll only be required to play at one Sunday morning service a week unless there are special events going on like a revival or conference. We have one rehearsal a week for the PT and choir (both on same day) and one rehearsal every 2 weeks on Saturday for the youth and kids (both on same day).
Our church is small - about 70-80 people (about half are kids).
We don't always have church like a traditional church. We believe in worship. It's normal for praise and worship to last up to 30 minutes or longer off of 3 or 4 songs.
We have 4 singing groups: PT (5 members, sometimes 6), choir (8 members, sometimes 9), youth (8, ages 12-17) and kid (7, ages 4-11), all alternating on different Sundays. We do have a drummer and a conguero that you'll be playing with (I'm working on getting a bass player)
Of course the whole music ministry won't be dumped on you at once (unless you can handle it). It will be a gradual turnover.
It will be a paid position (keeping in mind we're a small church). I couldn't tell you a set dollar amount; it will be proportionate to how much of the music ministry responsibilities you're willing to take on, level of experience and the amount you're asking.
Gimme some feedback if you think you might be interested. You can also email or PM me with any questions.
