The anointing is something given to us by God. The thing is, it doesn't come easy, and it isn't given to everyone. Why? Because if the anointing was given to everyone who said they wanted some anointing then it would lose its value. People would be selling anointing in a can if it was so easy to obtain. The reason why some people can feel the anointing on a song while others can't is because their spirit bears witness with the words of the song, with the message of the song, with the praise, or the worship behind the song. It varies for people because we all haven't been in each others shoes. (You don't know the story behind my glory..remember that?) So for some, hearing a song about how God is a deliver, or a provider, etc might not effect them one way or another because they can't identify with it. Or it could be that spiritually they aren't mature enough to handle the meaning of the song. People talk about feeling the anointing off of a song. Be careful about what you "feel." Just because the song made you cry doesn't mean it is anointed. The song might of touched you (heartstrings) but if it didn't make you reflect on the goodness of Jesus, If it didn't make you change your mind about sleeping with ol girl or ol boy, if it didn't atleast make you feel guilty about what you are planning to do tonight then the anointing of God was not present in that song. The purpose of God's anointing is to convict the heart, encourage the believer, break yokes, lift heavy burdens, etc. Not tickle your fancy! You want to know when the anointing of God is present in a song? when all you can think about is Jesus, you feel grateful, filthy, unworthy, humbled, all at the same time because when the anointing of God is present, then the presence of God is there also. You should not be able to be in God's presence without feeling unworthy. I don't care who you are!!!
