if you are talking about that is the bass note then he was trying to understand what to play with the bass number so with the pattern one if you are talking about bass note pattern
Part 1 pattern

4-3-6-2-5-1 (repeat)

then you would normally play these for the bassnote if that what you are talking about the pattern

4th chord of the scale
3rd chord of the scale
6th chord of the scale
2nd chord of the scale
5th chord of the scale
1st chord of the scale
(repeat this arrangement)


Part:2 pattern
4-5-6-7-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1

you said that this is bass note then you would play this then
4th chord of the scale
5th chord of the scale
6th chord of the scale
7th chord of the scale
1st chord of the scale
2nd chord of the scale
3rd chord of the scale
4th chord of the scale
5th  chord of the scale
6th chord of the scale
7th chord of the scale
1st chord of the scale

key change up m3 (modulate)

6-2-3-4-5-6-7-1-2-3-4

if this is the bass note then this is the pattern chords to play
play

6th chord of the scale
2nd chord of the scale
3rd chord of the scale
4th chord of the scale
5th chord of the scale
6th chord of the scale
7th chord of the scale
1st chord of the scale

that is the understanding if that is bass note sorry out of disrespect but that is normally what you play for the pattern of the bass note i was explaining but thank you for clairifying that.

See here's the thing, just because I have a 4 or whatever in the bass, that don't automatically mean I have that same chord associated with it.  I could play a 1 chord with a 4 in the bass or something like that.  The chord aspect of progressions is treated a little different than the bass aspect.

Now, I agree if u don't know what to play, u can start with the chords built off those degrees.  But, if u want to sound like the CD, u gonna have to experiment with some different chords.

you are right about that, but you have to have the foundation of the chord with the bass note. I agree that music is more of abstract which you can play different chord. However, you can agree that you have to start with the foundation now I didn't say what each of the chords to play I say you play with the bass note the 4th chord which can be a major or alter chord to play. It depends what you hear on the CD, but Normally if you play a 1 bass you play with the one chord you start with the foundation chord. in classical music they deal with the scale degree.
