See here's the thing, just because I have a 4 or whatever in the bass, that don't automatically mean I have that same chord associated with it.  I could play a 1 chord with a 4 in the bass or something like that.  The chord aspect of progressions is treated a little different than the bass aspect.

Now, I agree if u don't know what to play, u can start with the chords built off those degrees.  But, if u want to sound like the CD, u gonna have to experiment with some different chords.

you are right about that, but you have to have the foundation of the chord with the bass note. I agree that music is more of abstract which you can play different chord. However, you can agree that you have to start with the foundation now I didn't say what each of the chords to play I say you play with the bass note the 4th chord which can be a major or alter chord to play. It depends what you hear on the CD, but Normally if you play a 1 bass you play with the one chord you start with the foundation chord. in classical music they deal with the scale degree.
