How do you determine what RH/chords to play with the progression notes LH?  I understand how to play the progression in my left hand, but I am thorouhly confussed about how to determine which RH/chords go with the progression.

It depends on the song that's being played.  I've done a whole lot practicing, trying different chord combos with each bass note, so it's pretty much instinctive for me.  I have done some posts on progressions that may give you a helping hand.  Here they are:
