Jazz doesnt have lyrics but all the drinking and smoking around it makes it un-Godly.
wrong....
the drinking and smoking make the excessive drinking and smoking ungodly.......
not to say the jazz is "Godly" or "unGodly" - that really depends on the source AND who is playing the music.........
..... i know of people who have bands with ALL christian (committed not just talkin but walkin) musicians... even ones who won't play with secular groups/non christian people or groups.... and they create music..... just music not neccessarily for worship and not "secular jazz" but just come together and create then use what they make to play different places.... from church banquets to resturaunts where people are eating and... yes even maybe having a glass of wine with dinner......... so do the few people in the restaurant having wine make the music that was created ungodly?..... no
this is one main thing that caught my eye... i'd love to talk about more but..... i've learned from how these threads have gone in the past... and i won't let this eat up my time and energy.... LOL.. ;D

;D I miss yall man..i havent been on this site for months! To say something..God is the creator and originator of ALL things including ALL Music..Reggae, Rap, Jazz, Calypso, merengue etc etc etc. Satan never created music, but Orchestrated it. BIG difference. Notice I didnt say "gospel" Because that is NOT a genre. Sadly we call it that. The different styles of music we call secular is just music from all over the world. I grew up in a West indian church so my idea of "having church" wasnt a Shout! It was a One Drop into a Soca Beat while doing Lord I lift your name on high or something! lol Yall see da switch? But "Gospel" music is the category of John P kee hez Walker and the Bluesy, Jazzy style we created in our American churches. When U go to a record store and ask for gospel, they'll show u that. If U ask for Christian, they'll show you Don Moen, Steven Curtis Chapman, Third Day and Hillsong! So musically Gospel sadly means Black style and Christain means a white sound or feel. Israel doesnt do Gospel, he does Contemporary Christian because of his sound. Its sad we still have this segregation in the church. We limit our God and his ways TOO DAG ON MUCH! Someone said earlier "the things that secular artists sing about are a perversion of what God put on this earth for us to enjoy". That was the keenest point on here! Christians have the right to sing about Loving, being happy, dancing and getting your groove on as well as Jesus saves! As a matter of fact we should be the LEADERS of singing about that stuff because we have the Ultimate Joy, love everything in its completion because of Christ! So we should make music that expresses Christ in his entirety..That way we wont have to listen to Usher to get some advice on Love. He doesnt know anything about Love until experiencing AGAPE Love (God's Love). The Church has the highest divorce rate why?? Where's the Love?? After we get saved, We realize Jesus saves and died for us...We should move on the mastering things and areas in our lives, including Compassion, humilty and Loving sincerly. These things should be sung about for US as Believers so we can grow and know how to treat our Husbands or Wives or children! Unfortunately the "world" sings about it.

Last point Remember that "Gifts Come without Repentance" Justin timberlake, Timberland, Usher, Beyonce all operate in the musical gifts they received from God. All artists for that matter. God gives us all gifts cause its his desire for us all to be Saved and a part of his Kingdom! The Devil perverts, twists and influence what was given by our Creator to advance his Kingdom of darkness...Who's Kingdom are we advancing. (Just something I say to myself keep me in line) Ya'll all be Blessed man...Really ask Mr. Holy ghost to help you out on this one. Because while he lets me listen to Most Jazz he may not let you listen to any...He doesnt let me listen to George Clinton or Tower of Power and sometimes Earth Wind and Fire...He may let you listen to that. We all have a different walk. Dont limit God to just the way he Leads Your own personal Life as the basis for everyone Else's! Love Yall!!

I wish that they would have kept Kevin Durant though... They have some stiff competition though in Argentina and Brazil!! They will take it though!.
