I am a young aspiring musician who is bout as broke as you can be. I am currently in a small town with no ties to any music teachers except for your local high school band. I jus need to learn about theory of music and how to understand it all. I have no computer I actually @ the library. Its free. I've been sent to so many sites, and really none has helped(they all want money). I been playing for my church for bout a year now, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to serve the Lord in music. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
I cant believe this dude is saying all this garbage i have personally taught this brother over the phone and have helped him write out arrangements I have made myself available for telephone appointments which he has failed to keep
we talk on the phone often and he has grown to be my friend he truly is a gifted and very spiritual brother and I believe God is going to elevate him
To his credit he does have serious drive he works hard and plays hard and still somehow finds time to learn great arrangements for songs
to be honest his playing is really way ahead of his experience so i believe he will be doing big things on the keyboard
true if he had a teacher to work with him one on one he may improve but maybe God wants it this way
already he has only been playing for a year and the chords and stuff he is reaching for are almost on my level
so i would say that in another year he will have nothing to complain about
but knowing him he will find something to complain about
if its not his lack of knowledge which he has a lot of
it will be his corny football team or hs corny baseball team
or all the girls who want him
or his two jobs that he hates

but you know what would probably be better
