Dennis Chambers killin some Jazz.

Playing with Barbara Dennerlein (one of the greatest Organists to walk the PLANET), Dennis is classy and tasteful.

Around the 3:26 mark he really takes it up a notch.

That was a sick video.....She was killing it on that organ...I have to say I was most impressed with her left foot action running the bassline. Chambers was nice on the set as always...Very tasteful

I can't pull up myspace at work, but if no one posts it..I will post it when I get home...unless you have time to look through all of my friends on my myspace page. She just has it listed as Barbara Dennerlein you might be able to search it.

The organ player is Siiiiiiiick. And Dennis is being a true accompanist... transparent and supportive. Wow that is a lesson in musicianship.

This clip is in the wrong room.  It clearly belongs in the organ room.  The only reason its up here is because Dennis is on it.

...yeah!  What do a bunch of drummers care about an organ player.  It's not drums.  Who cares about what she's doing.  Dennis didn't do anything.  This clip is okay. ;D ;D ;D ;D

...a standing ovation please.  She showed up too late.  Miles Davis would've loved to have her on his band.  I'm sure Tony would've too.

All sarcasm aside folks, these organ clips are what it's all about. Musicianship, Craftsmanship, Accompaniment, RESPECTING THE MUSIC.

Steve Gadd started his journey of groove playing in organ trios!

Soulive with Alan Evans on drums and his brother Neal Evans on organ http://www.soulive.com/concord/site.php making it happen today. Though not much organ but synth organ/Moog/yadda-yadda there is the great MMW - Medeski, Martin & Wood http://www.mmw.net/band.jsp .

Clips like these need to be in this forum  so 'drummers' can learn to respect and play music instead of beats! YEAH I SAID IT..... If we actually learned to play 'beats' our timing would be better as would our musicality because BEAT is actually the notaional pulse of a pieace of music ie. the bottom value/number in the time signature (2/2, 2/4,3/4, 4/4, 6/4, 7/4, 6/8, 7/8, 12/8, 13/16...).
I know the Peanut Gallery was just crackin' jokes but I want more threads/clips like this to be revealed to the members here so we can be better stewards of our craft.

AMEN!  I LOVE GospelChops.  Even though I've seen all the videos on there a hundred times, I STILL watch them occasionally.

BUT.

This kind of clip is what it's about.  Sick fills are GREAT.

But a sick fill by itself is like 1 Bar of a musical piece.  Or one sentence in a Novel.  Or a 3 minute clip of a movie.  It doesn't really mean anything by itself.  It only has meaning as a part of a WHOLE.  (If that makes any sense)
