« on: February 03, 2006, 01:34:16 PM »
I am going to send ya'll a clip of a rehearsal at my church over here in the UK. Although i play drums, I am the one playing 1st keys (the roland xp-80) and my name is David.J.Davis for all you hu didnt know, Jason Archer is on 2nd keys (wit da triton rack), Alex Pusey is on Bass, an Dexter Hercules is on Drums...(i know da setup is wack but we hav a rock size set, the china and the splash had cracks in them and the church won't buy a new kit or anything, but everything on the music stand needs replacing like the amps, 1st keys and kit)

Enjoy!

Dude ya'll sound a lot better than churches that I have been in that had all top of the line gear. You guys have a lot of heart and its evident in your playing. Thats what I like  . The longer ya'll continue to play together Man, ya'll will work out all of the musical/instrumental cosmetics. I enjoyed it. In fact I was playing along with ya'll. Thanks for sharing that.  :)  :)

What wrong with the XP-80? The Saw Brass and Piano's/ Rhodes on there are crazy. Before you throw it out just remember that:
Kevin Bond still uses one for Brass
Anthony Randolph The Pianinst at New Birth Cathedral Bishop Eddie Long(from what I was told) uses one for Piano during services.
Aaron Lindsey uses one, that just to name a few.
Im getting one. Its a good board man. :)
Im too tall to act small.

Dont leave out Michael Bereal who uses one on almost all of the recordings he has done. Judith Christie McCallister(Like The Dew In The Morning), Marvin Sapp (Dairy Of A Psalmist him and Kevin Bond both had an xp-80 on top) , Donnie McClurkin( Again cd), and many more.

Right on, you can see it at the front of his setup in the 'Live from...' video.

Djdavis, if you want to get rid of the XP-80, I'll be more than happy to drive down to London and take it off you. It'll go to another NewT church, it'll be as if it had never left home.....

well the thing is...one day the music director spilt some water on da xp-80, so like every two services it 1. wud jus stop producing sound and 2. it would act like the sustain pedal is down when its not, and the 1st keys amp is just.........broken.........unusable. week before last i was on 2nd keys (the rack is jus fine and da keyboard controller but its just the amp) and the 1st keys amp jus wudnt work, the fuse had gone and we had both the keys in the 2nd amp, and it was all distorted at times, and the 2nd keys amp makes weird noises..the guitar amp is very old, the bass amp is old, it cuts out and the drums are just old and its a rock size set..and to add to that, we need to have everything goin through the house speakers because we have to turn everything up, but in order to do dat we would need to buy a new pa system and more powerfull speakers for the lower deck, but the church won't let us buy anything so we're gna hav to make do wit how is it but its all gd, at least i can still play
