HELP WITH TRITONES
« Reply #2 on: March 03, 2005, 12:03:26 PM »
but 4hisglory, how does one get to understand when to use a particular tri-tone? For example:

FB/EAC#

Now, FB(Cb) is in the key of Db, but EAC# is not in the key of Db. So, that's where my question comes from. In addition, what key am I in when I use this particular "tri-tone" set (as I call it).

Are these "tri-tone" sets used primarily as passing tones?

If u using F B as your tritone...u either use the Db chord or the G chord...in this case u used it in the key of G...I use that chord alot on the organ..like

Ab / F# C / F Bb D
G / F B / E A C# (I usually used this chord as a 2 in F)

YES IT CXAN BE USE AS PASSING CHORDS...CAUSE U USING THAT CHORD TO GET SOMEWHERE U SUPPOSE TO BE...THAT'S MY OPINION  :D
MERCY EN!!
